Step 2: Design Strategy
The goal of the Step 2 training session is to walk participants through the process of developing a KM strategy that will meet the knowledge and information needs of a health program. Participants will learn how to develop KM goals and objectives by using the findings that emerge from the needs assessment, and ultimately about the different elements that should be considered in order to develop a well-designed strategy (including a theoretical framework, audiences, objectives, planned KM approaches and technologies, implementation plan, and monitoring and evaluation plan). We hope that by the end of this session, participants will be able to do the following:
- Understand the value of a well-designed KM strategy
- Describe the key elements that make up a KM strategy
- Understand the added value of a theoretical foundation for a KM strategy
