Choose from >70 indicators in the KM Indicator Library to monitor and evaluate KM initiatives in health programs.
For anyone wanting to show the effectiveness and impact of knowledge management (KM) initiatives and activities, especially those working in public health programs, the Knowledge Management Indicator Library, with 77 indicators to choose from, is a go-to resource.
In addition to indicators that help you measure and evaluate your KM initiatives according to different components of a logic model including Processes, Outputs, and Outcomes, the KM Indicator Library also includes indicators on key cross-cutting issues of Organizational Partnerships, Adaptive Practice, and Social Interaction. Each indicator includes the following details:
- Definitions and purpose
- Data requirements
- Data sources
- Suggested frequency of data collection
- Issues and challenges
- Sample topics and questions for data collection instruments
Originally developed by the Global Health Knowledge Collaborative (GHKC) and maintained and updated by the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP), the indicators represent the expertise and practical experience of various organizations that have worked on KM in health and development. Although the interactive and searchable website at globalhealthknowledge.org is not available due to termination of USAID funding, CCP is ensuring the main content of the KM Indicator Library and the previous 2013 edition of the Guide to Monitoring and Evaluating Knowledge Management in Global Health Programs remain accessible through the KM Training Package. We hope to build out a new and improved website for the library with an updated guide in the future.
