Knowledge SUCCESS at ICFP 2022

La International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) is the world’s largest convening of family planning and SRHR experts—and an amazing resource for knowledge exchange. This year’s conference, which includes a new online program (ICFP Live) that is free to anyone, promises to bring even more opportunities for people to share, learn, and collaborate. Knowledge SUCCESS champions knowledge management (KM) at ICFP2022 through our sessions and in working with others to document their ICFP2022 tracks and share resources.

Our presence at ICFP will include:

  • Partnering with the IBP Network’s Program Implementation Track on two pre-conference events and two knowledge cafe sessions (one in Spanish and one in Français)—all of which encourage the documentation of program experiences and the use of new tools to strengthen our programs.
    • Find great resources from the ICFP Program Implementation Track sessions on FP insight, including a Français et Spanish collection highlighting the tools from the knowledge cafe sessions, and two collections amplifying resources shared at the morning et afternoon pre-conference events.
  • Coordinating a series of FP insight collections to more easily share the latest resources and tools for each session in the IBP Program Implementation Track. Tip: Use the search bar on FP insight and search collections with the words “IBP Track” to find the full list of resources.
  • Conducting usability testing for FP insight at the Knowledge SUCCESS booth—participate for a chance to win a Kindle Fire tablet and keyboard!

Are you interested in practicing knowledge management at ICFP2022? Here are three ways!

  1. Share your experience. ICFP2022 will include a range of convening opportunities, from scientific sessions and networking events. Sharing your experience with other conference-goers is not just a good way to network, but it helps others improve their programs. And keep in mind that sharing our failures is just as important—or perhaps even Suite important—than talking about our successes.
  2. Use a common platform. There is a flurry of activity at ICFP2022, and it is impossible to remember every resource you come across. However, the FP insight tool can help your KM efforts. Creating a collection on FP insight is a great way to make sure you can save the resources for future reference (because no one has time to read everything during ICFP!) and to share with your colleagues. You can even collaborate on a collection with others attending the conference! Are you presenting your work at ICFP? Help amplify the resources from your session to the broader FP/RH community by sharing them in an FP insight collection! (Find a great example of what this can look like here.)
  3. Join the online conversation. Whether you will be in Thailand or joining virtually, follow the conversation and make your voice heard on social media using the #ICFP2022 hashtag. And if you have questions or comments for us during the conference, make sure to tag us at @fprhknowledge on Twitter.

If you’re attending ICFP2022 in person, stop by Booth #41 to pick up materials or participate in our usability testing. We’ll also have our presentation slides and supplemental materials available for download on our virtual ICFP booth page, which also includes a curated reading list on UHC and family planning.
