The cohort focused on the topic of meaningful youth engagement in FP\/RH programs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/knowledgesuccess.org\/?p=11062&amp;preview=true\">Read the French version of this post here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"vc_empty_space\"   style=\"height: 15px\"><span class=\"vc_empty_space_inner\"><\/span><\/div>\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<h3>Goals of Learning Circles<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Network with colleagues<\/strong> in the same region who are facing similar programmatic challenges.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Share in-depth, practical solutions<\/strong> to priority challenges that peers can immediately adapt and implement to improve their own family planning programs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Learn new and creative ways<\/strong> for exchanging knowledge and gain the skills needed to replicate those techniques.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Through bi-weekly Zoom sessions and WhatsApp chats, 38 participants from 12 countries across francophone sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean shared personal experiences around what\u2019s working and what isn\u2019t working when it comes to <a href=\"https:\/\/knowledgesuccess.org\/2020\/05\/21\/are-we-staying-true-to-our-commitments-to-young-people\/\">engaging youth in a meaningful way<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Key Takeaways<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Meaningful engagement of youth in FP\/RH programming requires strategic program design as well as capacity strengthening for young people, for instance, through skills-building workshops, coaching or mentorship, and content production competitions.<\/li>\n<li>Socio-cultural barriers continue to be a common challenge when it comes to families and communities sharing information with adolescents and youth about sexual and reproductive health and rights.
