However, given the quantity of information being shared during a such an emergency, public health professionals and other responders often face:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Choice overload<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Too many choices are presented at once, potentially leading to frustration, inaction, and an overreliance on the same sources of information.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Cognitive overload<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Information is presented in a way that is difficult to understand, making it hard for professionals to apply that information to their programs.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In response to this, Knowledge SUCCESS developed the KM Road Map for Public Health Emergencies, adapted from our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/kmtraining.org\/fr\/building-better-programs-guide\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Guide pour cr\u00e9er de meilleurs programmes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and part of a complete training module on the KM Training Package. This training module provides an overview of how to implement KM during a public health emergency, such as an infectious disease outbreak, to address and reduce choice and cognitive overload. In emergency settings, where speed is of the utmost importance, KM tools and techniques can strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange and ensure the latest evidence is put into practice.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Who is the KM Road Map for Public Health Emergencies for?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This training module is meant to be used by public health professionals before, during, and after a public health emergency. Natalie has worked for a variety of nonprofits and built a background in planning, implementation, and monitoring of public health programming, including gender integration. Other interests include youth and community-led development, which she got the chance to engage in as US Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco.
