Step 3: Create and Iterate
The goal of the Step 3 training module is to learn about the wide range of knowledge management (KM) tools available to meet the knowledge needs of specific audiences. Training participants will begin forming a KM team and understand how different types of KM tools and techniques can be applied to health programs by walking them through the KM Tools and Techniques Matrix.
We hope that by the end of this training, participants will be able to do the following:
- Describe the continuum of KM tools and techniques that can be applied to meet different KM needs
- Understand how different types of KM approaches can be applied to programs
- Identify the skills and competencies needed to develop a KM team
You may review and download individual resources below, or click here to download bundled materials for this module (2.8MB .zip file).
Trainers may also want to explore the modules included in the KM Approaches section of this Knowledge Management Training Package for Global Health Programs. The KM Approaches modules offer participants in-depth training on how to develop specific types of KM tools and techniques described in the KM Tools and Techniques Matrix, such as communities of practice, share fairs, eLearning, and organizing information with information architecture principles and processes.
